We’re looking for a hands-on Warehouse Outbound Supervisor at our McCook, IL distribution center with strong leadership skills and the motivation to work in a fast-paced environment.
The hours for this role are typically 4:30am – 3pm Monday through Friday. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes vision, dental, medical and retirement benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises assigned department employees. Enforce company policies and rules. Responsible for the safety, security and leadership of all employees conducting operational activities within the facility.
- Ensures efficiency and productivity of outbound materials, maintaining accurate warehouse inventory records and setting goals and priorities for the team to maintain accurate and timely task completion.
- Coordinates cross-functional activities with internal departments, creating flexible work schedules to handle daily variations in the flow of orders.
- Responsible for all orders shipping on time (same day), with proper packaging and labels.
- Verifies all shipping containers meet or exceed minimum Department of Transportation regulations.
- Resolves issues and advises management of problems.
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of standard work instructions. Identifies opportunities for long-term improvements.
- Leads department meetings and align employee efforts with business objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred, with at least 5 years of related warehouse experience and 2 years in leadership position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience in a unionized environment, preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, as well as effective listening skills.
- Able to lead and influence others, multi-task, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to think strategically, analyze data, and make fact-based decisions.
- Computer skills with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. SAP WM/MM highly desired. Warehouse Management System (WMS)/ Transportation Management System (TMS) knowledge a plus.
- Experience with lean processes or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Our salary range for this role is $65,000 - $72,000 including a full benefits package.
